Riviera Nayarit Celebrates the Success of Litibu

Three hotel developments already under construction and seven more are foreseen to start in 2010, foreign currency revenue estimated at 185 million dollars, fully operational infrastructure and the upcoming opening of a PGA class golf course are motives of satisfaction for Riviera Nayarit, and the destination’s Visitors and Convention Bureau celebrates the success of Litibu, the integral tourist development by the National Fund for Foment of Tourism (Fonatur).
“It is an important investment that has drawn foreign and national developers, who are already building hotels in the zone while others are set to break ground in 2010. From our perspective, what has been achieved so far must be considered a success, which will soon reflect on the creation of new jobs, and contributes to improve the tourist supply of the destination” Riviera Nayarit VCB Director Marc Murphy said.
Murphy highlighted the first fruits of the investments executed by the Federal Government, through FONATUR, reaching 721. 4 million pesos, will become evident soon, since the opening of the first hotel project, La Tranquila, the first of ten projects in Litibu is set for June.
He congratulated Fonatur representative Alejandra Kuri after the announcement was made that the development enjoys all the infrastructure and necessary utilities. He added that the success of important projects like Litibu is possible thanks to the interest shown buy Governor Ney Gonzalez Sanchez to attain tourism-based economic development, thus placing this activity as priority within the State Development Plan.
