ue Buen Perro! was held recently at the beautiful Los Sauces Park; an event that promoted animal rescue and loving treatment of animals.
On a gorgeous sunny morning, dogs and their owners gathered at the park for a fun, entertaining event with beauty and obedience contests, to the end of raising awareness on the benefits dogs bring to their owners as they share their lives and spaces.
The Best Criollo (Mixed Breed) contest were -- First Prize: “Pancho”, proudly presented by Anne Simonsen; Second Prize: “Sirena,” presented by Cathy Gordon; Third Prize: “Mimi,” presented by Amber Tamayo Gutierez. The winner was awarded a dinner for two at Hacienda San Angel, grooming at Dogfather, and a large bag of Magnum dog food.
Obedient Dogs were also rewarded. Obedience contest winners were first place, Zoey, owned by Pat and Mike Kelley, second place, “Nathan,” owned by Judith Peters; and third place, lovely “Lucca” a mixed breed dog owned by Christina Borreby.
Purebred Contest winners were: first place, Chihuahua, Lily, owned by Lily Miranda Ochoa; second place, Miniature Schnauzer, “Nikoh,” owned by Laura Quijano; Belgian Malmois, “Zoey”, owned by Pat and Mike Kelly won third place.
The event was made possible thanks to the generosity of numerous volunteers and sponsors, and the participation of dog owners.
