Director Marco Vieyra Returns to Puerto Vallarta
The renowned theater director will be teaching his course “Character Creation” in the Cuale Cultural Center
On August 31, Marco Vieyra, one of the best theater directors in Mexico, will be back in Puerto Vallarta to teach a workshop entitled “Personal Recognition for the Creation of a Character”, in the Cuale Cultural Center, as part of the activities promoted by the municipal government through the Art and Culture Department.
This is the second time Marco Vieyra comes to town, because he considers that there is a theater community with great potential, which has been proven time and time again in the different theater festivals they have participated.
The workshop deals with the Ivana Chubuck Thecnique, a system that has worked for great Hollywood figures such as Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt, and Halle Berry, among others, and is developed in 12 steps from the theories of Sanislavsky, Meisner and Hagen.
The worshop includes fragments of classical and contemporary plays and film scripts, which are analyzed line by line to move forward in the use of emotions and psychological pain, not as goals in themselves, but as a means to achieve an objective.
The workshop is open to the general public and will take place from August 31 to September 5, from 4 to 9 p.m. Registration cost is 500 pesos, space is limited. Registrations are open at the Cuale Cultural Center office, tel. 223 0095 and 113 0107.
Marco Vieyra is a graduate from the Cabañas Cultural Institute. He continued his studies in the West Actors and Authors Center under Daniel Constantini. He has directed award-winning plays in different festivals in Mexico. He has also been recognized by the Mexican Theater Critics Association. He received a scholarship from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts to study scenic direction in Madrid, Spain.
