Austrian Flavors at Kaiser Maximilian
Dinner at Kaiser Maximilian is always a most delicious experience, in every sense. It is a pleasure I’m always looking forward to repeat.
KKaiser Maximilian is a wonderful restaurant on the South Side of Town. Last week as we were having dinner there I overheard a customer’s comment, and I was very pleased to hear him say that he had been there three times recently, and every time he felt it had been the most fabulous dinner he had ever had. That’s exactly how I feel about Kaiser Maximilian, and I have said it in my articles.
Through the years, Kaiser Maximilian has been decorated with various awards, among them the coveted Five Star Diamond Award of the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. For the last three years, Kaiser Maximilian has been listed in the directory of Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRoNA), the only restaurant in town to make the guide.

This time around, I chose the Potato cream soup with mushrooms, fine herbs and dark bread croutons. It is a rich, delicious cream. Letty, always concerned about eating healthy, had Goatcheese with tomato ragout, fine greens and beet. She was thrilled; she even made me try it, and was she right!
As main course she picked Grilled red snapper filet with baby potatoes, fresh vegetables and a lemon-cilantro oil, and the look on her face left no doubt it was superb.
My choice of main course was Beef tenderloin with red flannel hash, green peppercorn and hollandaise sauce. It was beyond belief.
An after-dinner drink is always a treat at Kaiser Maximilian. I enjoy schnapps; it makes the dinning experience complete. There is nothing else I would ask for.
The restaurant’s wine cellar is excellent. You are most likely to find the perfect pairing for your dishes. The adjacent Espresso Bar is open for breakfast and lunch and serves Austrian pastries, as well as specialty coffees, ice cream, salads and sandwiches.
