Evelyne Boren Exhibition at Galerie des Artistes
Native Cultural Festival at Cuale Cultural Center
This festival contributes to recognizing the intangible cultural heritage of our nation, with regard to the diversity and riches of native languages.

Before its transformation to an exhibition space, Galerie des Artistes was one of the first adobe houses in Vallarta, and still retains its 1900s-era historic charm. Originally renowned for its eclectic collection of masterpieces and exquisite antiques—some dating back to ancient Greece--the four-room gallery is now host to some 87 contemporary Mexican, American and European artists. To expose the wide range of talent represented, Galerie des Artistes annually holds three large collective shows, and ten solo exhibitions.
Beginning February 26, one such solo event will showcase the magical tableaus of German-born Evelyne Boren, a beloved Puerto Vallarta artist, who enjoys an enviable international reputation for her vibrant water colors and beautifully textured oils, created both with brush and palette knife. Formerly an underwater stuntwoman, Evelyne, has been painting professionally for nearly five decades. Her upcoming European-influenced exhibition at Galerie des Artistes, which has represented her for the past ten years, marks her 37th consecutive show in Vallarta!
Dividing her time between Sayulita, Santa Fe, Tuscany and France, Evelyne embraces the beauty and unique energy of each culture, capturing them impressionistically in her colorful works, 4500 of which are now a part of private collections around the world.
An immensely talented and prolific painter, gifted teacher, and charismatic woman with an infectious joie de vivre (not surprisingly the title of her biography) that infuses her canvases, Evelyne has the unique ability to convey a fanciful spontaneity in her work, despite arduous planning and preparation. Her inspirational approach to life—focusing on the positive and eliminating the negative--as with her art, is knowing what you want, visualizing it and making it happen.
