11th. Toys for Tots Gala Dinner

Toyotathon Sees Great Turnout
the Toyotathon, a nationwide event organized to the sole purpose of sharing good times with friends.

The CasaMagna Marriott Resort and Spa Puerto Vallarta hosted the 11th Toys for Tots Gala Dinner at the Salon Vallarta.
The gala dinner closes the weekend celebration that begins with a golf tournament that has become traditional, and brings together many local amateur golfers under the spirit of generosity that surrounds the festivities.
“Toys for Tots” is a program run by the local Navy League chapter and the CasaMagna Marriott. It was created by the US Marine Corps after the Second World War, to the end of bringing a little joy to war orphan children. In Puerto Vallarta, the program was instituted thanks to CasaMagna Marriott General Manager Dennis Whitelaw, and the first year it distributed 750 toys to needy children in the Puerto Vallarta area.
dancingBill Clark, the new president of the Puerto Vallarta Navy League called on all in attendance to give generously by participating in the silent auction taking place.
The program’s aim this year is to distribute 10,000 toys among children in poor areas in the municipalities of Puerto Vallarta and Bahia de Banderas and to continue the playground program that has successfully created two playgrounds.
The Toys for Tots Gala Dinner is one of the international community’s most eagerly awaited social events. This year’s event lived up to the expectations, with cocktails served at the Salon Vallarta foyer, followed by a delicious three-course dinner. Live entertainment and dance music was provided by a wonderful band playing top forty.
We saw a number of familiar, friendly faces in the audience, among them the newly appointed person in charge of PR and Marketing for CasaMagna Marriott, Lourdes Bizarro.
Toys will be distributed on January 11, 2010. “Toys for Tots” relies on volunteer work. Join in and be part of putting a smile on 10,000 children’s faces.
