Last week we stopped by Galleria Dante to view the recent works of Canadian artist Jean Gabriel Lambert, who is in Puerto Vallarta for a brief stay and was about to leave to prepare his upcoming solo show in Toronto, Canada.
We enjoyed talking with the artist, who showed us his latest creations, hand picked by him for his Galleria Dante show. Mexico’s colors are the source of inspiration for the paintings he creates to the beat of the music.
His paintings are mostly large format, painted with a palette knife. His choice of palette can vary according to the theme he is developing. Paintings from the Fire series were of explosive yellows, while in Second Chance, he turned to a more sober terracotta palette.
Nonetheless, passion and color is the artist’s signature.
