Puerto Vallarta Dresses in Yellow Again
Once more, summer in Puerto Vallarta filled with music and fun for hundreds of locals and tourists who had the chance to attend the best musical event of the year organized by Puerto Vallarta Acir Group through its station Digital 89.5, Hits Only.
On the night of Thursday, July 9, Collage Club welcomed over two thousand people, who attended the free concert to enjoy the music by Singers Kalimba, Yahir, Iskander and band Adela.
The event was sponsored in part by The City of Puerto Vallarta and Bougainvilleas Sheraton, and had the complete support of Acir Group, National Radio Leader, thus consolidating its station Digital 98.5 FM in the preference of the audience.
This way Acir Group participates in the free events and the reactivation of wholesome entertainment for the Puerto Vallarta audiences and the visitors who enjoy this tourist destination.
The Digital Gig is a concept that tours the Mexican Republic with live artists to gather thousands of radio listeners and Puerto Vallarta is considered a key spot for this type of event. It ranks high on the list of important cities that present this show to benefit the population in a ludic, healthy way.
Prior to the concert, on Thursday afternoon, after the sound check, Kalimba and Adela talked with the media about their impressions on the event and their projects for the near future.
Kalimba affirmed his lifetime calling as a rocker and said that contrary to what some think, that when he left OV7 he ventured into rock, it was the other way around, when he joined OV7 he ventured into pop. “All my life I’ve been a rocker, and it shows in the music I play today, he said in reference to the songs he had sung with his band earlier during the sound check.
He said he is already working on the songs for his new CD and that he is currently producing other bands.
Likewise, he commented that he is writing a children play, motivated by a play in which he acted at the age of 16. in Brief, it is a musical play on the adventures of a child reporter who also sings.
Kalimba signed autographs for a group of fans who won the opportunity to meet him in person and have their picture taken with him.
Adela also talked to the media. This Guadalajara band formed one year ago, and is currently promoting its first CD. Members define it as an alternative pop rock band, with songs that talk about everyday matters. They called the band Adela as a tribute to Mexican women, in reference to female warriors from the Mexican Revolution, who were called Adelitas. Their intention is to make a fusion of Mexican elements with pop rock. Band members met when they were involved in different projects, and one year ago they decided to get together to create Adela.
