Cinthia Lizbeth Cardenas, Crowned Queen of the Patriotic Festivities

Vallartense families rooted for their favorite pageant participants and enjoyed a great event

Among cheers and applause from an important turnout at the main square, the pageant Queen of the Patriotic Festivities, organized by the municipal government through the Art and Culture Department, took place.
reinasThe pageant consisted of two stages. In the first of them participants were judged as to sympathy and culture, and included questions on the Mexican Independence. In the second stage, the contestants dressed in hand painted cotton gowns by Fatto a Mano; their attires impressed the audience, and, most importantly, were shown with great elegance by the participants.
Mariachi Real de America and the marvelous voice of Blanca Chucuan made the delights of the audience as they appeared between stages. Before the new queen of the September festivities was announced, Irma Veronica Moran Godoy received the title of Señorita Fotogenia, the most photogenic contestant. She was chosen by the city’s media reporters. Miss Congeniality award, granted by all the pageant contestants, was awarded to Alejandra Castellanos Tortolero.
The panel of judges was made of councilwomen Concesa Pelayo and Lizett Franco García, Administration Major Officer Marcelo Mantecón Gutiérrez, Public Safety, Transit and Fire Director Javier Lopez Ruelas, the mayor’s private assistant Lucio Meza Garcia, Plaza Caracol Public Relations Manager Teresita Marmolejo, Tropicana Hotel Manager Alejandra Cornejo, Ambito Puerto Vallarta Director Letty Baca, as well as Jorge Martinez Basañez and Milton Alonso Tovar. In representation of Mayor Javier Bravo Carbajal, councilwoman Concesa Pelayo crowned Cinthia Lizbeth Cardenas as Queen of the Patriotic Festivities 2009. Abigail Hernandez and Maria Jose Franco Corona were also crowned, as first and second princess. Along with their tiaras and scepters, the winners received cash prizes as well. Those were presented by Marcelo Mantecon.
