Well, in fact, they are already here. They arrived Wednesday morning at the CasaMagna  Marriott Resort and Spa Puerto Vallarta, carrying a truckload of toys to be distributed among children in poor neighborhoods in and around Puerto Vallarta and Bahia de Banderas.
Lulú y BillThis is the result yielded by the efforts of the Marriott and the Puerto Vallarta Navy League, through the “Toys for Tots” program.
As announced late last month, 10,600 toys were brought to Puerto Vallarta in a container, to the sole purpose of putting a smile on the faces of 10,000 children.
On Wednesday morning, a number of volunteers started unloading the cases full of toys in preparation for the subsequent task of counting and separating toys to fill the trucks that will caravan on Monday, January 11, along ten pre-established routes throughout the municipalities of Bahia de Banderas and Puerto Vallarta, all the way to Mismaloya. This will be the eleventh consecutive year this grand labor is carried out.
CasaMagna Marriott PR Manager Lourdes Bizarro, taking a moment off the demanding task of coordinating and assisting volunteer work, filled us in as to the details of the operation. “A total 10,600 toys were bought by Toys for Tots, and a number of other toys received from individual donors add to these” she said.
Volunteers of all ages, headed by Navy League President Bill Clark, were hard at work stacking boxes and inflating basketballs, volleyballs and soccer balls.
CasaMagna Marriott personnel gladly participated in the great labor of setting it all up for Monday’s Three Kings Motorcade, which will, with no doubt, bring a smile to many needy children’s faces.
