The Champagne Sunday Brunch at Bougainvilleas Sheraton

By Miguel Camacho F.
Last Sunday we decided to put our morning to good use and have a great time, free of worries at the Bougainvilleas Sheraton’s Champagne Sunday Brunch. It was the best decision we could have made.
señoraFor several years now, the Bougainvilleas Sheraton’s Champagne Sunday Brunch has been the choice for Puerto Vallarta families of a fabulous Sunday morning together.
La Villita Restaurant, where the brunch takes place, is located near the pool and only separated from the beach by a narrow stretch of beautifully maintained gardens. Location couldn’t be better.
From our arrival, we started enjoying the great service from the staff. We were greeted by a very kind hostess and shown to our table by the garden.
We were immediately offered drinks, which obviously includes the famous mimosas, a mix of champagne and orange juice. As we enjoyed the first sips at our drinks, which included coffee and fresh fruit juices, we set out to browsing the extensive buffet, and look for that special something that would hit the spot that morning.
cactiWhen you come to the Sunday Brunch, you bring your best appetite. It would be a shame not to have room for one more bite of that delicious something we saw on the buffet.
The list of dishes is too extensive to name them all in this space. However, we all found each something delicious to enjoy. One of the great favorites at our table was the Acapulco style ceviche, which everyone seemed to have. Except me, who found an irresistible red menudo. We all started out with a plate of fresh fruit. Something I love about the Sunday Brunch is to have an omelet and huitlacoche quesadillas made on the spot. I love the anticipation of watching my meal being cooked. By the time I got back to the table with an egg-white omelet with a combination of ingredients that included mushrooms, cheese and bell pepper, my mouth was watering and just couldn’t wait to start eating.
A separate commentary is deserved by the presentation of the buffet. Chefs in charge put all their skill in creating an impressive presentation, which includes sculpted fruits and a great assortment of decorations, maybe because “love enters through one’s eyes”.
bufetThere was a rose bouquet with petals made of thin slices of fruit, and a galleon with sails made of onion layers; they were true works of art. Congratulations to the chefs are in order.
All the staff was quite attentive, they made sure to refill our drinks and to suggest complements such as toast or salsa, and they made the occasion quite pleasant.
All of this happens with the live Mariachi music in the background, filling the air with festive notes from this gender that is so deeply rooted in the heart of all Mexicans, especially those from Jalisco, who share a common origin with this icon of the Mexican identity.
It comes as no surprise to learn that the Sheraton’s Champagne Sunday Brunch has been voted Best Sunday Brunch and awarded the Readers Choice Award two years in a row.
