The Municipal Folk Dance Group “Xiutla”, a Mexican folk dance group made up only by Puerto Vallarta children and teenagers marked its 16th anniversary last July 27.
The folkloric dance group was founded in 1994 by its current director Enrique Barrios y Limón. He was really a visionary who created a dance group to give local children the possibility to learn about the traditions and customs of our country.
“Through 16 years we have lived many experiences, both good and bad, we have seen success and failure, which has allowed us to grow and mature as artists. Thus the dance group gives the kids the possibility to grow intellectually, socially and spiritually, which in many cases has not been easy to achieve” the founder of the group says.
