International Gastronomic Seminar Announced

At a press conference in the convention room of the Velas Vallarta Hotel, the first International Gastronomic Seminar, titled “How to Boost your Business in Times of Crisis”, was announced by organizers Consuelo Elipe and Carlos Elizondo. The seminar is set for October 5, 6 and 7.
Consuelo and Carlos were joined by Regional Director of Tourism Ludwig Estrada, Municipal Tourism Director Enrique Tovar, Coparmex Puerto Vallarta President Margarita Ortiz, Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board Public Relations Coordinator Nora Ocegueda and Chamber of Retail Commerce President Guillermo Gomez.
Consuelo and Carlos proceeded to explain the details of the upcoming event. This seminar is organized under the umbrella of Editorial Group Excelencias, and with the endorsement of the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta, the Puerto Vallarta Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Tourism Board, as well as the Jalisco Tourism Secretariat. The event is also sponsored in part by a number of local and international companies.
José Carlos De Santiago y Bartolomé, Chairman of Excelencias Group, will be one of the feature speakers at the seminar, topping the lineup of international speakers that will be participating in the event.
“How to boost your Business in Times of Crisis” is aimed at executives from the hotel and restaurant industry, but “anyone who is interested in the themes and who is interested in learning can take the seminar” said Consuelo Elipe.
The seminar will take place in the convention rooms of the Velas Vallarta Hotel. Human Resources, E-Commerce and social networks, Marketing Strategies, Menu Creation, Event Organization and Logistics, are among the topics the seminar will deal with.
The city and state officials participating in the press conference expressed their support of the event, and remarked on the values it promotes and the way Puerto Vallarta has overcome unprecedented difficult times. “Closing the summer season only five percent points below the previous year, is quite an achievement. Numbers may not be impressive, but these results speak of what can be achieved with teamwork and unity” said Enrique Tovar.
Some of the companies sponsoring the event set up displays in the convention room, making the conference into a simultaneous mini expo.
