At seven p.m. at the Cuale Cultural Center deck, the appeareance of Professor Nestor Villaseñor kicked off the series of cultural events put on by the Arts and Culture Department. He rendered an extensive repertoire of Latin American folkloric music on different instruments.Professor Nestor Villaseñor teaches the Latin American Musica Workshop in the Cuale Cultural Center, and his interpretations delighted the audience for over half-an-hour. He closed his performance with his version of La Bikina, a well-known Mexican song.
casta metizaMaestra Rosa Calleja, teacher at the Flamenco Dance workshop, gave a great performance of the dances from Andalucia, Spain. Three changes of costume and six choreographies made up Rosa María’s performance to an audience of over 100.
Casta Mextiza Band, closed the program with a selection of Latin American and Mexican music including original pieces from various countries and in several native languages.
All in attendance, besides being treated to a great music and dance show, enjoyed red wine and a variety of canapés courtesy of the French-Mexican Gastronomic Institute of Puerto Vallarta.
The Cultural Evenings, art for all, are free to all, and are set to take place the last Friday every month at 7 p.m. at the Cuale Cultural Center. The main objective of these shows is to present quality cultural events to the community, with both local and foreign talent.
