At the end of the holiday period -which will extend longer than 14 days- total 1,036 million peso revenue is expected

According to official data provided by the Tourism Ministry’s web page, Nayarit ranks at the top as tourist destination, it is recognized as the best of 2009; with nearly 700 million dollars in private investment in tourist infrastructure. Nayarit, thanks to negotiations by Governor Ney Gonzalez, Nayarit enjoys more lodging establishments and recreational alternatives for both national and foreign tourists.
With such extraordinary drive, it is expected that at closing of the year the number of hotel rooms will have increased, thus consolidating hotel room supply at 20,000 units.
The data was made known by Nayarit Tourism Undersecretary Mario Basulto Mares. He added that in 2010 the possibilities for the different destinations in the state will increase, especially for Riviera Nayarit. “To this end, non registered lodging alternatives will be reviewed, like in the case of Sayulita, which does not have grand tourism hotels but does enjoy over 25 boutique hotels with capacity up to 30 suites, and will generate more than 750 spaces with capacity of 6 guests, allowing for a tourist population of 4500 persons enjoying a beach with surf vocation and, at the Rancho Mi Chaparrita, extreme sports.”

During this holiday season, daily revenue is estimated 74 million pesos according to estimations by the Datatur System.
Basulto Mares highlighted that at the end of the holiday period, -which will extend longer than 14 days- total 1,036 million peso revenue is expected.
“We can assure that the important promotional efforts designed by Governor Ney Gonzalez through the State Tourism Secretariat, are yielding great results” he said in closing.
