Mayor Javier Bravo Carbajal, presiding over the flag hoisting ceremonies symbolizing the certification of the beaches, remarked on the months of hard work that finally come to fruition.
Activities started early at Garza Blanca beach, south of town, where in a brief yet meaningful ceremony, the mayor, joined by Doctor Saul Guerrero Galvan, technical consultant and the driving force behind these works and city officials, proceeded to hoist the flag that certifies the quality of this beach, with representatives from the Federal Zone and the Bahia de Banderas Trust, as well as students from the Benito Juarez Elementary School bearing witness.

Municipal Utilities Director Alfredo Velazquez Islas underscored the importance of this act to Puerto Vallarta in the environmental, social and economic spheres, which will also bring international recognition to the municipality. “This achievement places Puerto Vallarta in a special position within tourist competitiveness, as one of the best beach destinations on both national and international levels, thus increasing the environmental, service, social, human and economic quality of the municipality.”
In turn, Doictor Saul Guerrero Galvan, explained that in order to achieve the certification, a long list of requirements had to be met, by means of great efforts on the part of the municipality. “It is about 60 points that we
had to review and meet, for us to be hoisting this flag today”.
On behalf of the Margarita Lepe Jaso, student Maria Fernanda Ortiz Olavarri, said that “all children have the right to inherit a clean, safe environment.”
In turn, Mayor Javier Bravo said that the certification of the Camarones and Garza Blanca beaches is an achievement of the government and society.
