First Jazz Dance Fest, a Great Success
Last weekend at the CECATUR Auditorium a jazz dance festival took place with the participation of outstanding Puerto Vallarta dancers
On Sunday evening, at the CECATUR Auditorium a jazz dance festival took place with the participation of the Contemporary Dance Workshop from the Zero Space Company, along with ProDanza Academy, in an event organized by the City’s Art and Culture Department.
Eight of the best choreographies in town were presented that evening to the end of creating a bond between different dance groups in the city, and in hope that it will be only the first of many such events that can be held in this destination, to promote greater cultural alternatives, besides enjoying shows that are attractive both to locals and tourists.
“Mirror” was one of the choreographies interpreted by Ixchel ledezma, Emanuel Arana and Alberto Valdez, to music by Gary Moore; it was a beautiful picture full of tenderness and sensuality. This choreography was the winner of the National Jazz Dance Congress Tour, an itinerant event that visits eight cities in the country.
The evening’s main course was without doubt Alberto Valdez and Pedro Garcia’s original “Hunger knows…” played by Magdalena Garcia, Vanessa Rincon, Fabiola de la Rosa, Fabian Almaguer, Emanuel Arana and Alberto Valdez.
To the municipal government it is important to continue promoting these proposals presented by the local art community, thus supporting Puerto Vallarta talent, and creating spaces and festivals to attract cultural tourism coming to town through the different seasons of the year.
